Clements is one of only a small band of Australian manufacturing companies whose international business well exceeds their domestic business.

History

Formed in 1908, the company quickly established itself as a leader in the design and manufacture of medical suction devices used in Australia.

During the 1950s, the company undertook considerable growth in the domestic market and extended it.s activities into the design and manufacture of bench top centrifuges.

The 1970s and 1980s saw the company develop its international business via an extensive network . It was awarded many Australian Export Awards for its achievements.

In 1995, the business was acquired by R. R. Taylor Pty Ltd who had previously been the major supplier of component parts to Clements. This consolidation has facilitated the development of a new, strengthened management team taking the business forward.

2005 saw the successful external audit of systems and procedures to ensure that the various products and processes are compliant with ISO 9001:2000 Quality Accreditation. Awarding of the accreditation will continue the companys. long time focus and commitment to quality and continual improvement.

Clements Facility

One of the results of the acquisition of Clements by R.R. Taylor was a recognition that the long term future of the businesses was to consolidate and utilise their synergies. This has now been achieved after a long and intensive process. Clements Medical Equipment and R.R. Taylor are now located in a new large premises at Somersby, in the Central Coast district of NSW.

This 3500 sq mtr complex provides the companies with the space, resources and the long term stability to ensure the progress achieved in the past few years is maintained and indeed accelerated to ensure Clements place in the world.s markets.

Product Range

Clements products are classified into three main product groups: Medical Suction Products, Scientific Products and Blood Storage Cabinets. In addition, Clements also distribute chiropractic tables and electro-medical safety testers.

Medical Suction:
The Clements Medical Suction product group is further classified into the following categories:

- Mobile Suction
- Portable Suction
- Wall Suction

A substantial array of accessories is offered for each group. These products are widely used in Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Emergency Services, Doctors Surgeries and Clinics, Veterinary Clinics and the like.

Scientific Products:
Clements Scientific products are suitable for most laboratory situations and are classified into the following groups:

- Bench Top Centrifuges
- Microhaematocrit, Coombs Test & Specific Purpose Centrifuges
- Laboratory Suction Pumps

An extensive array of accessories is also available. This is especially the case for bench top centrifuges where Clements offers a variety of head configurations, tube carriers and adaptors, making the range extremely versatile.

Refrigerated Blood Storage Cabinets:
Clements offers a range of Refrigerated Blood Storage Cabinets featuring sophisticated control and monitoring systems. Clements Refrigerated Blood Storage Cabinets are available in 1, 2 or 3 door models. A range of standard sizes, or customer specified dimensions are accommodated along with roll out drawers, shelfs, lockable drawers etc. Clements also produces a range of laboratory and vaccine refrigerators once again either standard sizes or to customer specifications.

Chiropractic Tables:
Clements offers two distinct chiropractic tables, specifically designed for ease of use by both patient and specialist. Featuring adjustable height, tension, and head and foot rests, the tables are fully adjustable to the individual patients. size. The tables also feature hand and foot cocking and extra-wide cushions, addressing the ultimate in conveniences and comfort allowing for ease of movement and treatment.

Electro-Medical Safety Testers:
The HiPOT 150 Electrosurgical Insulation Safety Tester is an all-inclusive unit that is specifically designed for the in-service testing of laparoscopic instruments for insulation failure. This product helps to ensure the prevention of alternate site burns which can be extensive and cause significant post-operative infection and trauma to patients.
